This concept like the one AMIE (Associate Member of the institution of Engineers certification exam conducted by Institute of Engineers India was earlier (to 2013) government approved and equivalent either to Diploma or Degree of Engineering. B.Ed degree holders are not eligible for Primary Teacher

  A notification issued by NCTE (National Council for Teacher Education) in the year 2018 specifying B.Ed as qualification for Primary Teachers has been quashed by Supreme Court recently. The SC said the NCTEdid not apply its mind independently and it took the decision to include B,Ed as qualifying degree for primary teachers merely on the recommendation of the Centre. Before 2018, only diploma holders in elementary education could apply for primary teacher. Before the notification the qualification was D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) to be a primary teacher. Differentiating between the skills required for primary teachers and teachers for secondary or higher education the SC said the pedagogical approach required from a teacher at primary level is in a unique as these are the initial formative years for a student and therefore needs to be handles with care. Based on the comparison of pass percentage of last year and this year 2023 there is a significant drop of 5.4% (21,959). The overall pass percentage is 87.33%. that is 1,12838 students have scored 90% or above in comparison to 1,34,797 By seeing this some academicians says the due to the introduction of CUET for admission to UG courses has reduced the importance and relevance of class 12 th Board exam.
